I consider myself to be a deep thinker and this could be because sometimes I just sit and think about so many things in life and beyond life.
Recently I’ve been thinking about why a lot of Christians seem to be torn between the need to be ‘cool‘ in the face of the world and the contrasting need to be Confident about their Faith in Christ.
So many people would rather hide their identities as Christians or just keep it subtle just because they don’t want to be tagged as “S.U” or “Pastor” or “Mummy G.O” among many others.
I was having a chat with someone recently and she was talking about how she will never wear a certain Head gear again because she hated how people around chanted ‘mummy G.O” and apparently she didn’t like it.And then, I jokingly asked her if the mummy G.O of her Chruch has offended her in anyway and she replied in the negative and it kept me wondering why she didn’t really like it but I can relate because I’ve been in that situation countless times.
I myself have being caught in this web that has bound a lot of Christians all over the globe. The need to please the world and still hold on to Faith.
While the truth remains that we need to hold on to only God.
The world makes it seem as though those who are out there ‘Loud‘ about their faith in Christ are Freaks and deserves to be tagged as one.
The world makes it look as though it’s totally uncool to “carry Jesus on our head”.
Sometimes you’d hear them use the mocking tone for Christians. Due to all of these, Christians start to shrink in their boldness and then try to tone it down just so they’ll not be tagged by the world.
And I totally get it,The things of this world are cool to the world and the things that are not of this world are uncool In the eyes to the world.
Like I said, I’ve been caught up in this web countless times -but then, I started to seek the real solution to this problem( because that’s what it is- a problem)And it’s a problem because this world needs Jesus even if they deny it.
By God’s grace and mercy, I believe he revealed to me a dimension of tackling this issue.
Yes, we have the Spirit of God in us, but then what is that thing that will sustain the passion and boldness given to us by the Holy-Spirit?
I believe a revelation of the love of Jesus will sustain the burning passion to make him known with reckless abandon.
For you who can relate to this post and I, We may need to seek constantly the Love of Christ to be revealed to us.
When we understand his love( not just read or hear about it)..Then we will know it’s something Worth fighting for.
Understanding the depths and widths of this Divine love changes everything. It changes us.
A lot of us read about it and even talk about it but a real Revelation about this love changes everything.
A revelation that changes our being and transforms us in a new way, because when we really understand how much he loves us, we will give him our totality and proclaim him with boldness.
As for me I want to be deeply rooted in his love. Not caring what the world says or thinks.
My prayer now has been: LORD GIVE ME A REVELATION OF YOUR LOVE!! A DEEPER REVELATION.
That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19 KJV
